A day at the beach of Scheveningen

It was a pleasant surprise when I first arrived at Scheveningen beach. A hot, sunny summer day, riding a bicycle and looking at the immensity of the sea. I never imagined I would see such a beautiful beach in Holland. The first reference that comes to mind are the beaches of Miami Beach, with fine white sand, broad horizons, sports practitioners here and there. Since it was a weekday, the beach was obviously empty, and this made me wonder what the winter days are like…

The Dutch love this region especially for long walks and bike rides. It is also easy to get entertained on the kiosks spread across the waterfront, although they don’t offer very attractive drinks and snacks. The highlight is near the Pier, one of the main attractions there.
