Creative places that combines food and entertainment

The Dutch pragmatism is something easily associated with creativity, I believe, in most of the times. Their culture preserves simple habits that always find ways to achieve a low-key lifestyle, full of joy and social/work opportunities. I carefully selected three places that follow this philosophy and present themselves much more than a restaurant-bar:

Kanarie Club

It is one of the coolest places opened in 2017, and it has a very good-humoured aesthetic, tipically Dutch. The mere fact it is inside Food Hallen is a sign we should expect something good. Its concept mixes an all day kitchen restaurant with a poolbar and a space where people can work or read. It has a pleasant veranda connected to the hotel De Hallen, where customers fight for tables on (rare) sunny days.

Strand Zuid

The perfect spot to hang out during Summer time. This place turned into a kind of an artificial beach with sands, sun lougers, DJ, and so on. You can enjoy all of these summer vibes and also have an aperitivo or lunch/dinner inside the restaurant or seat by the charming outside terrace which facades a beautiful canal. I also like this less touristic area much more appreciated by local citizens.

Studio K

It's one of the coolest endeavors I've seen in town. It's located in the Oost side (East) of Amsterdam, founded and managed by 50 students since 2007. They were driven by a dream to spread culture-work-gastronomy-conviviality within an unique space. In Studio K it can be found cinema, coffee and restaurant. It's a non-profit organization that extends the opportunity for these students to work and also to learn all together. The restaurant menu offers seasonal and organic food which pleases vegan, vegetarian and meat lovers. Dinner + cinema costs only 17 Euros. Nice!
